Patient balances, handled the way you'd want your own bill handled.
We take over what patients owe after insurance, explain it in plain language, check whether an insurer should have paid, and offer a way to pay that works. Your patients keep their dignity. You keep the revenue.
Most patients want to pay. They also want to understand, and to be understood.
Healthcare has become more expensive and harder to follow. A patient who gets a bill months after a visit, in language nobody explained, isn't refusing to pay. They're confused, and often they suspect a mistake.
We believe patients have a responsibility to pay their providers. We also believe providers and the people who represent them have a responsibility to make the bill understandable and to find an arrangement both sides can feel good about.
We work for you, the provider. We do that work by treating each of your patients as if they were our own customer.

Four things a typical agency doesn't do.
We know insurance
Our team comes from claims follow-up. A deductible, a denial, or a coordination-of-benefits problem gets explained in the first conversation, not escalated and forgotten.
We look for coverage first
Before a patient is asked to pay, we check whether an insurer should have. When we find coverage, the patient's balance often shrinks or disappears, and you get paid by the insurer.
Patients see everything
Every letter, email, and account page shows the breakdown, the reason, and the options. Most questions are answered before anyone picks up a phone.
We offer real options
Payment plans sized to what a household can keep up with, screening under your financial assistance policy, and a simple way to pay online.
What happens to one account.
Placed, then checked
The account arrives from your system. Before any contact, we check eligibility and the claim history for coverage that was missed or a denial that should be appealed.
First notice
A letter and, where the patient has agreed to it, a text or email. It names you and the Trusted Partner handling the account, and links to the patient's account page. The letter itself follows the format and wording the law requires, so it reads like a notice; the personal part is the conversation that follows.
A conversation, if they want one
Patients who call reach a trained person with the claim in front of them. Patients who prefer not to call can do everything online.
A way forward
Payment in full, a plan, a financial assistance application, or an appeal to the insurer. If the patient says the bill is wrong, contact pauses while we check.
Resolved, or returned
Paid accounts are remitted to you monthly. Accounts still unresolved at the end of the cycle come back to you with a note on what was tried and why it stalled.
15 to 40% of the balances your process had finished with.
That is our typical range when we work behind a provider's own billing effort. Where you land depends on the age of the accounts, your specialty, your payer mix, and how much has already been tried.
Move the slider for a rough figure. The written estimate we send after reviewing your actual inventory is the one to rely on.

Trusted Partners, one relationship.
We manage a network of Trusted Partners to our standard: our wording, our contact schedule, our review of every patient concern, and our software in between. One Trusted Partner or several, you will not feel the difference. You have one relationship, one report, and one number to call.
Because we manage more than one Trusted Partner, your accounts go to whoever handles that kind of balance best, and move when results slip. A single agency can't offer you that.
Who does what, in detail →What will not happen to your patients
- No contact outside the hours and limits the law allows
- No credit reporting without your written policy
- No threats, pressure, or talking down to anyone
- No dead ends. Every patient can reach a person
- No requests for payment while a dispute is being checked
Some patients will still be unhappy to be asked. When that happens a person at Mantl Health reviews it and you hear about it.
Early-out and late-stage.
| Early-out | Late-stage | |
|---|---|---|
| When | Soon after insurance pays, while the visit is recent | After your statements and calls have run their course |
| In whose name | Yours | Yours and the Trusted Partner's |
| Tone | A friendly extension of your billing office | The same tone, with more options on the table |
| Main work | Explaining the bill and setting up plans | Finding missed coverage, appeals, hardship screening |
| What you gain | Faster payment and fewer accounts aging out | Revenue you had stopped expecting |
Patient advocacy, asked plainly.
Who contacts our patients?
Our Trusted Partners do, under our wording, our contact schedule, and our standards. We check every account for coverage first, write what patients see, review every patient concern, and move accounts when a partner falls short. Our insurance expertise and our software sit underneath all of it, so the right accounts go to the right partner and patients get answers instead of friction.
What is early-out billing?
Early-out is patient billing handed to an outside team soon after insurance has paid, usually in the provider's own name. The aim is to explain the balance and arrange payment while the visit is still fresh, before the account ages.
Will our patients know an outside company is involved?
Yes. Every letter, email, and call names you and the Trusted Partner handling the account. Clear is kinder than hidden.
Do you report to credit bureaus?
Only if your written policy says so, and only within current federal and state rules.
What does it cost?
A percentage of what is recovered, lower for recent balances and higher for old ones. No setup fee and no minimum. More on pricing →
What if we already use an agency?
Keep it. We can work a different slice of accounts, or manage your existing agency alongside others so you can compare results on the same report.
